Why Visit with a Certified Trichologist

Trichologists are hair and scalp specialists that offer non-medical diagnosis and treatment recommendations for a variety of hair and scalp conditions. Though your hair stylist / barber can give you some general tips about hair health and maintenance, you need a hair and scalp specialist to manage hair loss and scalp disorders. Some hair and scalp concerns trichologists address are:

  • Dry, flaky scalp
  • Oily scalp/hair
  • Itchy scalp
  • Dandruff
  • Hair thinning
  • Hair loss
  • Hair breakage
  • Bald patches

What to Expect During Your Consultation

Sharon Clohesy, IoT, I.A.T. Certified Trichologist, specializes in identifying  various types of hair and scalp conditions such as dry, flaking, itching, scalp sensitivities, hair breakage, thinning, hair loss, including many other hair and scalp concerns. Each consultation begins with a discussion of your hair care regimen, diet, health history and review of the ingredients your hair and scalp are being exposed to in the products that you are using. A microscopic analysis of your scalp environment and hair shaft is conducted with each visit. Upon gathering all of the necessary information, Sharon will recommend a customized non-medical treatment plan based on your hair / scalp needs and goals.

Treatment Recommendation

Our goal isn’t about selling you a product, it’s about getting you answers and helping you resolve your hair / scalp concerns. During your consultation you will undergo a detailed evaluation of your hair and scalp so that we can determine realistic expectations for your results. Your results will largely depend on the length of time your condition has existed as well as other health and lifestyle factors. In many cases hair and scalp issues can be solved with the simple change of a hair care product and regimen, sometimes a change in diet that you didn't even realize is bad for your hair and scalp can make a world of difference.
